Re: Another Live Suicide by Hanging
You lose control of self after >10 seconds, you can’t move your arms or legs. It’s all involuntary from there. Has nothing to do with want or will, just death of the brain stem. |

Re: Another Live Suicide by Hanging
I have seen/heard many express the theory that the tongue does not begin to protrude and swell in a hanging until long after the death has occurred, largely as a consequence of sustained pressure from the ligature. But it certainly appears to me that this chick's tongue is flopping out of her mouth within 4 minutes of her actually kicking that table over. |

Re: Another Live Suicide by Hanging
From what I understand, the body has a automatic response to a build up of carbon dioxide in the lungs. If there were only a gas like nitrogen or even helium in the room, suffocation would occur with no herky jerky side effects. Of course, carbon dioxide is introduced into the lungs in a natural gas exchange. If a person were in-breathing only...say nitrogen...and kept exhaling the built up carbon dioxide, there would be no spasm like action. Within seconds. No rope needed. This is 'As far as I know'. |
