Re: Another Live Facebook Shooting, Antonio Perkins, Chicago
Anyone notice that all of these sidewalk people constantly flicked their eyes up and down the block, across the street, like they were gazelles, expecting to get hit by the lions at any moment. Bars all over the windows and doors, high fences ... this was a dangerous neighborhood to be loitering outside, and they knew it. Eyes shifting everywhere ... always in motion. |

Re: Another Live Facebook Shooting, Antonio Perkins, Chicago
With him scrutinizing the area constantly, obviously keenly aware of the possibility that shit could go down any minute, how could he have possibly missed the shooter(s) coming up on him so suddenly and taking him by surprise like that? Where the hell did they come from, and how could he have missed the shooter(s)? Even though he obviously must have been involved with drugs or some type of criminal activity which made him a target... the more I watch this video, the sadder I feel for this man... there is a certain regret in his countenance, a certain presaging melancholy—despite his keen alertness—which both belie and transcend the seemingly tranquil, deceivingly torporific atmosphere of a supposedly lazy, laid-back drinking night out—harbingers of an ineluctable, impending and final tragedy. I don't know why, but I like this man, even in spite of his station in life, and I grieve for him and his loved ones.

Re: Another Live Facebook Shooting, Antonio Perkins, Chicago
When a wild animal pricks up its ears and looks around because they sense danger, they don’t hang around, they run. He looked around quietly and sensed something was wrong, but his survival instincts then failed him and he didn’t run. Survival of the fittest was low in this one. |
