I googled if people do cry differently depending on their language and found a little article on it called "Newborns' cry melody is shaped by their native language" "Here, we analyzed the crying patterns of 30 French and 30 German newborns with respect to their melody and intensity contours. The French group preferentially produced cries with a rising melody contour, whereas the German group preferentially produced falling contours" https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19896378/ This probably explains why the man is crying like that I guess? It would be interesting to see if other people from that region cry the same way. |

Sounds like he is lamenting. Irish people used to keen during grieving or funerals. I'm sure it varies country to country.
