An infamous Shia militia commander in the Iraqi (Iran) Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), Abu Azrael, commonly referred to as the “Angel of Death” has been filmed desecrating the corpse of an ISIS fighter near Mosul.

The video shows him lighting the beard of the slain terrorist alight and then making fun of him and spitting in his face. The video ends with his buddy stomping the corpse’s face to extinguish the flames.

Abu Azrael gained notoriety during the course of the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq for carrying a sword into battle and even using it to desecrate an ISIS fighter’s corpse that he had burned to death.

Ignorant Americans made the “Angel of Death” a social media celebrity with the misunderstanding that just because he is fighting against ISIS, he must be a good guy. Make no mistake, Abu Azrael is one of the slimiest, no-good life forms on the planet. Before he was playing with dead bodies and looting and extorting Sunni civilians with the PMU, he was targeting US troops as part of Muqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army. This man is the Shia equivalent of ISIS.

FWIW, nearly all of the "social media hype" around this guy was/is in arabic and from Shia Muslims in the middle east.

This guy is virtually unknown among Americans outside of a handful of articles that have come out about him in the western media.
