But, what would they do anyway? Traumatize themselves and their passengers further? Maybe there are people driving with kids and they don’t want to have them see the poor man dead. Maybe they are calling Emergency to report the accident.

And human nature(?) allows us to believe that other must people have already stopped or will stop soon and assist.

I hope you’re never in this situation and people drive past you. How can you tell if a person is already dead unless you get out and check? If a life is worth saving and you can help, do so. Even if it’s just to comfort the victim.
