I am certain that your firearm is legal and you clean, maintain and fire it correctly. You probably buy ammo that has been kept in the right conditions and not tampered with or reloaded by some guy who has no idea about over pressuring cartridges. The gun was probably firing out chunks of itself.

Was this a lot of shots fired? yes, but what were the 8 police chasing him on foot supposed to do? Should 6 of them have peeled off and 2 continue the foot pursuit, because that looks less extreme? Should each of them have communicated during the foot pursuit that only 1 or 2 of them have authority to fire a weapon?

And they did find a gun in the vehicle, BTW.

It's so easy to prevent becoming a victim. Pull over, cooperate, and have your day in court. That ensures you're having breakfast the next morning and not laying on a slab.

Not sure if you are responding to my post or someone else's. I will take the opportunity to clarify either way. I would like to point out that the suspect's race was only known by the officers that were paying close attention to the color of his hands in the dark, and to everyone else once the ski mask was removed. Initially I am having a hard time finding evidence to support a premise that race played a part in these events. My theory is that the officer's on scene fell victim to an almost automatic behavior that we see with many similar organizations (Military Fire Teams, Law enforcement l, ect). The urge to have to be part of the group or organization, this often come at the cost of neglecting their individual feelings/judgment/morals in the process, and adopting the behaviors and actions of the people around them. We call this behavior Mob Mentality. In the military we except that it happens and train to counter it. I think law enforcement agencies are being continually pointed at deversity and unconscious bias training, which is bad.

Imagine instead you train so as to counter the one mentality that can stop the "good apples" from opposing the "bad apples" with reason, good judgment, and rational decision making...
