That hospital is ill-equipped to treat burn patients and it is
filthy as well. My sympathies for those burn victims.

Re: ALS Bus VS Tanker Accident, Indonesia

These old buses are bitches when it comes to fires, they go up in flames in a matter of a few minutes.

Re: ALS Bus VS Tanker Accident, Indonesia

Survivors reported that the bus had mechanical issues from the start of the trip, including oil leaks and radiator problems. It is suspected that an electrical short circuit or a mechanical malfunction in the engine area caused sparks to fly while the bus was in motion.

When the driver noticed the sparks, and possibly smoke, he allegedly panicked. In an attempt to quickly pull over to what he thought was a safer spot or to dump the bus into a ditch to extinguish a potential fire, he swerved sharply to the right into the oncoming lane.

This swerve put the bus directly in the path of the fuel tanker. The high-speed impact, combined with the existing sparks/fire and the tanker's fuel, led to the immediate explosion.

The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) is investigating why a bus in such poor technical condition was allowed on the road, especially since it was reportedly using a fake license plate as the real plate belonged to a much older, scrapped vehicle.
