Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
For any bleeding heart screaming "police violence" i used to do that, then i met real life. Police will either shoot or will not shoot, depending on the situation, when they shoot they shoot to disable, meaning they need to apply enough shock to body to disable it, its not a movie where you shoot someone in the leg and they surrender, anyone crazy enough to hold a gun or even a knife to police will possibly shrug off a flesh wound and continue their attack. |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
Surely everyone knows that the standard procedure in the US is to shoot first, ask questions later. As they SHOULD all know this, then how can we be sorry for someone who takes a gamble on that! Sure I bet there are cops who are trigger happy, but if you faced being attacked every day by some nutter, wouldn't you shoot first and ask questions later!? I would. Me or them….no contest.

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
We live in a country where criminals are getting broader and more dangerous. Besides, a recent FBI study revealed that more people are killed by blunt trauma to the head rather than dying by gunshot. I suggest you check your facts. However, I do agree the shooting was excessive. http://www.**************/Big-Governm...an-With-Rifles |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
C'mon dude really? Not all cops are like this. There is a much smaller percentage then you realize, but regardless the bad ones do get much pub when situations like these are caught on tape. I personally believe that many of these police departments need to have much more intense and rigorous training about confronting a real threat or a potential innocent citizen. Ive seen several cases recently where many are overreacting to these types of cases. I believe its because of fear and lack of training. |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
If a person wants to live he needs to drop anything that may be in his hands the instant a cop arrives. If a person wants to die he keeps a object in his hands; its that simple. Too many hesitant cops have been killed. There is simply not enough time (In the heat of a moment) to make an accurate determination as to weather an object is a weapon or not. |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
I'm no cop hater but if you look at the video again the cop asked him to drop his gun then began shooting almost instantaneously.. In my personal opinion the situation could have been handled differently. I'm not criticizing, just an observation..
