Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department has released lapel cam video of a controversial Albuquerque shooting. In December 2013 three APD officers shot Shaine Sherrill near Wyoming and Indian school. They were responding to a domestic call from a woman claiming Sherrill was hitting her car with his backpack. On lapel cam you can see an officer kick away Sherrill’s knife. APD says Sherrill raised his arm and pointed either that knife or a brake pad at police and officers believed it was a gun. During a domestic violence call a year earlier, Sherrill had told officers he wanted to be shot and killed by police. Sherrill who has a lengthy criminal background has filed a lawsuit against the city for the shooting. APD says it can’t comment on the case until Monday because the chief is out of town. |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
Standard Procedure to cuff and detain all subjects even after incapacitating them with deadly force.. Officers never truly know the extent of a suspects injuries. Other possibilities might include drug induced psychosis. People on strong hallucinogenics such as PCP can take multiple GSW's (gun shot wounds) and still continue pressing forward.

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
Except for the fact that the cop didn't say "drop the brake pad or stone"...he had already made his mind up the guy had a gun, even though there had been no mention of a gun in the report. You shoot at people with REAL guns....even if they don't fire them. Also, the victim was 30 yards away so the cop was in no danger even if it was knife. |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
I love everyone here who judges the police so harshly. YOU people should try doing a police officers job day in and day out. If it is the cop, or the bad guy who goes home to their families that night... I vote cop over and over. Don't be a piece of shit felon, and your chances of being harassed/arrested/shot/killed by the police are near non-existent. |

Re: Albuquerque PD Releases Video of Controversial Shooting
Cops suck dick. American cops suck bags and bags of dick. And no I'm not a felon. Don't shoot people that don't need to be shot. Dumbass cops think they can go killing people because they don't do what a cop says. |
