ACAB ? This is a common acronym for All Cops Are Bastards - but something tells me you'd be the first one to call them for help if somebody fronted you in the street.

When instructed to lay on the ground and keep his hands visible he

(a) shifted his position from one where he presented a more manageable threat (laying down / dozing in the sun) to one that placed him in a tactically superior position (sitting, balanced, and able to access his weapon) than before;

(b) when given clear instructions, multiple times from multiple officers, instead of rationally assessing the likely outcomes (if he acted aggressively) and choosing to comply with requests, he instead chose to act with belligerence and hostility (thereby showing he had no fear of the actors nor the lethality they carry in their holster);

(c) he then made a clear unambiguous attempt to access his weapon despite knowing who was surrounding him.

These three simple choices, the choices HE MADE in a rapid sequence, left few other outcomes within the mere few seconds of time that elapsed.

The badge was the only thing standing between that bearded old fool, and a stray bullet killing your child or mine. It happens every day.

However the subsequent fact that it turned out to "just a BB gun", or that he may have been mentally ill, drunk, high or angry ......... are NOT FACTORS that shift the blame for his death from where it belongs (the old dickhead himself) to where you want us to infer that it belongs (the cops).

It is not hard to assume, if the man was transient, homeless, mentally ill, had substance abuse problems, or even just had an anti-authority attitude - that someone like him has had previous interactions with police. None of THOSE interactions resulted in him being shot before - so he knew the difference that may result by reaching for an apparent weapon after being told not to.

I don't need to explain this - but I take the time in the hopes that if fucking imbeciles like you just manage to see it spelled out literally in black & white - that something may shift in their analysis of footage like this, and they'll end up deciding that All Cops Are NOT Bastards. I won't hold my breath in your case .........
