More likely victims of their own incompetence and lack of training! The 'murdercycle' will sit there on its stand all day, doing nothing, until an idiot throws his leg offer it and fumbles and bumbles into traffic. I see no helmets or riding gear there either, and both are bleeding from the head......

Hey, I ride murdercycles too, along with other motorized equipment. I am also a retired transportation safety director. I've had a few bike crashes, mostly due to my fault. When the rider mounts the "tool"-[bike], they willingly set themselves up for a crash. It may or may not be the operators fault. It doesn't matter, dead is dead. The tool -[bike] assisted in the "murder", hence the nickname murdercycle.
