Aftermath - Snack Shop Employee Stabbed His Boss to Death, Then Killed Himself

A snack shop employee named Eduardo A. stabbed his boss, identified as André L.M., to death and then took his own life. The motive for the crime is believed to have been jealousy.

The Fire Department was called to respond to the incident. Upon arrival, firefighters found André already dead. Eduardo was still alive but had inflicted injuries on himself. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he did not survive and died at the scene before being taken to the hospital.

Witnesses reported that the incident began with a disagreement followed by an assault, but the motives are still under investigation.

According to the preliminary investigation, the crime was motivated by jealousy. Police are investigating whether André was involved in a relationship with Eduardo’s ex-wife, who is also an employee at the restaurant and who suffered minor injuries in the assault. The couple had reportedly been separated since December 2025.

According to the police chief:

Everything indicates that this was a premeditated crime. We found the sheath of the knife used, still with the price tag on it, inside Eduardo’s locker. In addition, employees reported that he dismissed the kitchen staff shortly before the incident, which was not customary.
