Better at what? Specifically? Many things have been quantified, and equality is often not what’s found between divergent populations evolved under massively different conditions as have the major continental clades of homo sapiens…

Even when the west was busy conquering it was then building roads and infrastructure and generally trying to make things more civil for those there when it didn’t get in the way of their own ‘progress’. The infrastructure and institutions weren’t always a good match for the population but there was at least an effort made l (as evidenced by pretty much all of western law, geneva conventions, etc, all being products of western thought.)

Given the overwhelmingly cultural, technological, social, political, and military dominance of western civilization over the past 400 years I think it’s more about people of other races tending to be more sensitive when a white person has such an attitude than about white people actually having any unusually elitist attitude about their race. If anything whites tend to be self deprecating to their own detriment.
