If I had to wagger a bet, this guy survived. He's got one hell of a pneumothorax (sucking chest wound) but it doesn't look like any major vessels were cut. The creepy thing about this video is the look on the guys face. He has the absolute look of shock, and the agonal breathing pattern always gives me the creeps. What needs to be done, is the chest hole needs to be covered with plastic or a bandage that can form a water tight seal. Then the lung can expand because it does so by negative pressure.
