9 People Dead and 17 Injured, After Two Buses Collided on the Highway
Yesterday morning, a tragic accident shocked the country of D.R. leaving 9 people dead and 17 injured, after two buses collided on the highway. The victims were identified as J. L. R. C, 40, who was driving one of the buses; Y. F. R, 49 years old; A. T. G, 31 years old, and F. G. P, 34. Also, Z. C. C, 31, lost her life; J. B. N, 47 years old; S. C. and E. G. also died.  |

Yellow school buses from USA are usually very safe, we have very few serious accidents with that design and they usually included freight trains. I was killing time in Heathrow Tull airport, picked up a British paper, and an article was talking about locals wanting American type school buses for greater safety...

Based on the US cultural shift of parents insisting on dropping off kids in POVs, I am surprised the US school bus programs are viable any more. I have wondered about that as I see POV queues at US schools. I always thought Euro use of public transport for school kids was much smarter (cost effective) than the US model of two separate public transport systems. I expect Americans pay more school taxes as a result. |

American government (democrats mostly) insist on total protection for our populace (or, total control). An insanely expensive and unreachable goal, but nevertheless, they try. So, there’s no way we would EVER have our minor children going to school on public transport where they would be in contact with the general public!!!  Kids don’t even have to walk to a bus stop any longer!!! No more one stop for all the kids on the street, nooooo! We need to make the bus stop at EACH HOUSE now!!! It’s fucking ridiculous… LOL  |

Sad to see the accidents. Drivers in the DR are some of the worst I have ever seen. The driver's union in that country sucks. The are to blame for allowing drug addicts to operate vehicles. Not to long ago, the union was up in arms defending the tourist bus operator. They even tried to make him in to a hero.
