The truckee could have been a little more aggressive getting up that ladder. The temperature inside her skull had to be really elevated from the radiant heat alone. As much as I want to condemn the firefighter aka truckee for not getting up there faster and getting her on that ladder, she was done before it started. Probably for the best. Any rescue would have prolonged her suffering. Her skin had to be just melting off her body before he even got on the ladder. If they put elevated master streams on their truck companies like their American counterparts, they could have made a difference with just tank water blasting into the apartment. Wouldn't even have to catch a hydrant. But it is what it is. Maybe their fire service will learn some valuable lessons from this, like having their firefighters packed out and on air going into a situation like that. Even if he did get close enough to grab her, the radiant heat would have given him 3red degree burns to the exposed skin on his face without the protection of an air pack.


You know its fucking hot when your victim reaches her ignition temperature and bursts into flames before you get up the fly section of the ladder.

The only thing worse than the construction of their fire trucks I'd the construction of their cameras. I wondered what was being blurred out then realized it was just a whole section of pixels that just crapped out. The first video, with all its working pixels, was filmed in 18p. Their porn videos must suck there too.

Yeah, as a kid, my most recurring nightmare was our house catching on fire and dying in the fire.

Actually, we had a news story a couple weeks ago where a family of 3 all died in a house fire. It was a mother, father, and an 8 yo boy. It all kind of brought the memory of those nightmares back for me like I was that 8 yo boy.

As for this fire. They wouldn’t have needed a ladder truck if I were the 77 year old trapped up there. I’d be down at ground level before they even got the ladder up against the building. My ass would have jumped, no question about it. I’d still be dead, but I wouldn’t have burned in a fire.

If he would have reached her, the humane thing to do would have been pulled her over that ledge and let her go. I agree on these being the hardest to watch. I wish I could find the EMS CE I watched in EMT school bad in the 90s. A counterweight, basically a huge slab of concrete and steel, fell off the back of a mobile crane. It was at night. A guy in a small car hit it at freeway speeds. They were filming as they extricated him. 4th degree burns, the typical full body char. But it looked like he moved. They panned away then back to him. Guy was rocking back and forth. He survived being on fire until the fire department got there and extinguished the fully involved car on arrival. He lived through the extrication process. The flight medics on the helicopter said since his face was gone and charred he just estimated the spot to tube his airway. Just jammed the tube through the blackened featureless char. That made an impression on me. I see the only logical course of action is to put a bullet in his brain and end his suffering. This was in the United States. I don't know how the judicial system would handle it. But his suffering needed to end sooner rather than later. I'll try to search for that video.

They couldn’t have gotten the ladder up there ASAP? And she’s in her 70s, most likely light and fragile. Probably just pluck her out and head down.

How long was the fire going before the ladder was finally put out?
