A Volkswagen Passat driver (30) travelling with a speed of approx. 67 km/h, approached an intersection but didn't slow down, ran a redlight before he blasted through a regulated pedestrian crossing hitting two men before he crashed into a Hyundai, was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment in a penal colony as well as 5 years deprivation of the right to drive a motor vehicle
One of the pedestrians died at the accident, the other received serious injuries.
The driver was detained. According to the conclusion of a medical examinatior, at the time of the collision with the pedestrians, the driver was in a state caused by consumption of narcotics.
