Actually, police are far more patient and restricted now than ever on how much they can escalate certain things.
Many departments don’t require a signature of receipt, but apparently this one does. The law is the law. He should have signed receipt for the ticket.
I think the physical response on the part of the officer was in response to an actual assault by the old guy, as I mentioned in my previous post. The escalation was due to an assault, not for the ticket.

Children should be taught in grade school that you just don't argue or resist the police. They possess the power in the streets and if you don't believe it then FAFO. Cooperation is nothing to be ashamed of. Once it's over and you're still bent, then get an attorney and bring it to a court, or sue the shit out of the police and laugh all the way to the bank.

Instead of teaching this type of common sense, teachers are focusing on teaching kids that you can actually be any gender you want to be... (sigh). What's happened to America?
