6 People, Incl. Family of 5 Killed when Their Suzuki Crashed with a Mahindra
Aftermath. India, Nov 25: In a tragic incident, six people, including a family of five who were on their way to attend a marriage, were killed on the spot when their multi-utility vehicle (MUV) collided with a Mahindra Scorpio at Metikurke in the taluk on Saturday. Praveen Demashetty (35), his wife Sowmya (30) son Sharath (6) daughter Praneetha (3) and Sowmya's brother Sagar (25) are the family that were killed in the accident. They are residents of Mathikere in Bengaluru. They were travelling in a Suzuki Ertiga vehicle to Gadag to take part in a marriage function. According to police, the tyre of the Suzuki Ertiga burst on National Highway-4 due to which the driver lost control and veered the vehicle to the other side of the Highway. This resulted it in colliding with the Scorpio, coming from the opposite side. Anwar Shivu, 55, a member of the Chitradurga APMC, who was travelling in the Scorpio vehicle, was killed on the spot. Other passengers Shanu, Dhanu, Shakeer and Mansoor suffered severe injuries and were rushed to Davangere government hospital in a critical condition. The Hiriyur rural police have registered a case and are investigating the mishap. |

If you have ever seen the way they drive in India, it would be no surprise. Probably the most dangerous and stupidly crazy traffic I have ever been in.
