On March 16, 1988, Saddam`s forces used nerve gas and other chemical agents on the Kurds of Northern Iraq. There were 40 such attacks, this one killed 5000, all told 100,000 were killed during 1987-88. Saddam earned the distinction of being the first person to use nerve agents against their own people.

How easy is to choose who should die when you are completly secure in your home or you can kill them just pressing a button, uh? ;) Im impressed of the bravery of our culture.

I would guess that this was Saddam's way of saying "These aren't my people, and I want them off my land!"
