5 Killed After a Suspension Bridge Collapsed

On Thursday afternoon there was a serious accident caused by the collapse of a suspension bridge in Colombia, at the precise moment when a car was passing. According to the initial report, due to the emergency, at least five people have died, three at the scene of the events and two more while being transferred to medical centers.

According to the Administrative Department of the Disaster Prevention, Attention and Recovery System (Dapard), there are also reports of several injured people. However, authorities are awaiting further details of what happened.

For their part, the inhabitants of the area denounced the state abandonment and the poor condition of the only bridge that connected the region. They also alleged on social media that after the accident, the authorities were slow to arrive at the scene.

I can't imagine that bridge holding up a donkey cart much less a vehicle
