First, accusing someone of being gay is used politically

Second, calling it 'execution by hanging' but not dropping them to break their neck is killing them by asphyxiation in agony and is fucked

I don't know the details but this kind of execution can be aimed at intimidating anyone who would challenge authority

Yes this one was used as intimidation and yes it was for political reasons.

Hanging by no drop is called a short drop or no drop hanging while a hanging that breaks the neck is called a long drop hanging.

I just want to reiterate that reality_archivists' bump of this old thread with updated photos and information is entirely appropriate. We always welcome any new info/media to any thread regardless of how old it is.

It said on the news that the Iranian government was accelerating executions recently.
