3 People Electrocuted to Death when Ladder Touched High Tension Wire
India, In a shocking incident, three persons, including a student and a father-son duo, were charred to death, while another person suffered injuries, after they were electrocuted on yesterday morning. The dead were identified as I.S. his son K.S. and IT Student L.S. All three were charred to death on the spot. Another person tried to save them, but in vain. He suffered 75% burns. He was rushed to Medical College but his condition is said to be critical. Preliminary investigations hinted towards gross negligence on the part of institute management and police have booked the group instructor and charge of IT. The case has been registered by police. "Our priority is to get the autopsy of bodies done. Our teams are investigating the matter. Primarily the case has been registered against principal and teacher in charge. We shall book more people, directly or indirectly," police said. This was a gross negligence as such kind of repairs need an expertise and expert guidance, he added. The incident took place in the morning when IT had started the classes. There was a technical snag in the electricity supply of the institute. The three were sent to bring the moveable ladder which was over 40 feet high. The ladder was of iron. While dragging to other place it touched the 11,000 volts high tension wire which was passing over the IT. Within seconds the three were charred to death.  Seeing them struggling R. tried to help them but he too suffered electrocution. By the time others could reach, smoke could be seen emanating from the bodies which were charred to death. The condition in which bodies were lying revealed that the victim did not get the time to react even. Meanwhile, supplies were cut and senior official of HVPN too were informed to cut supply on lines. |

All 3 men were very well liked among the faculty and other students, and each had a nickname that fit each of their personalities. IS was known as Smokey The Bear. The female students referred to KS as Hot Rod because of the fact he apparently was very well endowed, and LS was a popular performer at The Cockpit bar on Fridays & Saturday’s using the name Barbie Q.
