I'm sorry these kids had stupid adults in their lives whose idiotic decisions led to this. Kids trust people who are complete morons on a regular basis and they end up paying the price because they don't know any better. I hope the rest survived.

My guess is the height of the steel bar was right at face level for the smalls, but the adults took it to the mid section, a much more survivable location...
