Re: 3 Dead, 9 Hurt In Billerica Car Auction Crash
But many older people can be the salt of the earth. Stuck in their ways and fucking prudish as hell, but then I look at the narcissistic, effeminate, pansy-asses of our newest generation (those born after, say, 1995, as I was born in 1983) and I just cringe in disgust. Glued to their cell phones, infatuated with trends, their music is utter trash (but it wasn't stellar when I was a youngin either), many of them are fakes and pretenders. Frankly, I don't care for either the youngest or the oldest generation, too much of a "my way or the highway" attitude with both of them, those born between 1955 and 1995 are the sane ones.

Nice to hear you're "Truly ashamed" to be an American, because of what you think "other countries have asserted". At the heart of every liberal's disdain for the US is self loathing, guilt, and low self esteem. It explains perfectly why they don't believe the country has the right to control it's own borders, and the general America last, slow road to national suicide policies they pursue. All the more ironic since the US is far from having the highest rates of obesity. |

Re: 3 Dead, 9 Hurt In Billerica Car Auction Crash
I'm sure he's far from liberal. I am not particularly "liberal", myself, more like a libertarian. I admire our strengths. But our weaknesses have got to go, and we have plenty. We spend shitloads on defense but education and health get the blind eye. We are glued to our reality TV, most Americans would rather poison themselves with Honey Boo Boo and Sunday Night Football then inform themselves on the world around them. We have a degrading sense of community, our mom and pop stores are dying, social status is emphasized on over character strength, kids no longer play outside like they used to, most parents would rather drink and fight it out then spend 30 minutes trying to connect with their children. Maybe it's not the state of American culture as a whole, because as far as I know, the whole western world is being dragged into the pits slowly but surely. But if you listen to pop music, watch reality TV, sit on your high horse and hang with the popular crowd, of course you'd think everything is fine and dandy in the world around you. |

Re: 3 Dead, 9 Hurt In Billerica Car Auction Crash
I never said everything is "fine and dandy", but creating a strawman to knock down is typical of shallow thinkers. You're so confident in what you just "know", aren't you? Education gets the "blind eye" compared to military spending? That might fly if you were talking to the typical ignorant America despising retard, but not me. The US spends more per child on education than all countries except Norway and Switzerland. 31% higher than the average developed, 1st world nation. In postsecondary education, no one spends more per student than the US. The US spends far more on healthcare per capita than any other nation on earth. Military spending is high because we don't pay servicemembers $200 a month like they do in Russia. We use modern equipment that's designed to protect the lives of the people using it, and that's expensive, as are the precision munitions we use to minimize collateral damage. Our military is significantly smaller than that of many other nations, but you didn't know that either, right? |

Re: 3 Dead, 9 Hurt In Billerica Car Auction Crash
"Our military is significantly smaller than that of many other actions" This is how I know you're pulling "stats" out of your ass. The United States military has a power index of 0.94, the SINGLE HIGHEST of any developed nation. Oh yeah, Russia (the almighty Russia) hovers below us, at 0.80. How did we get there? Spending, spending, spending. How did we convince the masses to support this absurd overspending? Widespread propaganda. "Support the troops" is the mantra most frequently used to defend this practice. We do spend more than many other countries on education, I will lend you credit on that one. But there is room for improvement there. Our education ranking remains pitiful. Maybe the answer is less spending across the board (that just sounds logical coming from the fact that we were founded on essentially libertarian principles), but if there is an area that needs to be invested in, then it's education and health, even if it seems as though we do enough of that already. I think the reason you have so much faith in the US is a naive and childish, but obvious, one: you hail from here. People are born with prejudice in favor of their homeland, in favor of their loved ones, in favor of others like them, it's only natural. Just stop trying to politicize your perfectly natural biases, alright? There's already too much politicization out there and not enough logic. |

a lot of auto auctions like these hire workers on a per diem basis, so you get a lot of basically homeless guys to drive the cars around
