3 Cops Kiled, 1 Wounded in Farc Dissidents Attack on Highway
Three policemen were assassinated and one more was wounded yesterday on a highway in the Colombian municipality of Morales, in the department of Cauca (southwest), in an attack attributed by the authorities to one of the former Farc dissidents. The fatalities are Deputy Mayor M. L. L, 39; patrolman J. L. O, 24, and patrolwoman E. M. R, 31, and another patrolman, L. B. P, was injured in what which he described as a "insane attack". Morales is located in northern Cauca, an area where the Jaime Martínez front of FARC dissidents, the National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrillas and drug trafficking groups fighting for territorial control operate.   |
