2 Terrorists Killed in Turkey when They Are Attacking Police Station
At least two PKK terrorists were killed in Turkey's eastern Tunceli province after an exchange of fire with security forces Friday, local security sources reported. According to the sources, a group of PKK terrorists had opened fire on Şehit Nahit Bulut Police Station on Cumhuriyet Street in the Moğultay neighborhood. Police responded to the attack, with two terrorists killed at the entrance of the police station in the resulting exchange of fire. A police officer was also killed during the clash while a civilian was critically wounded and rushed to Tunceli State Hospital. Special operations teams have been dispatched in the area to contain the ongoing clash, sources added. Some shops in the area were also shut down after the attack. Recognized as a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the PKK waged an armed separatist war against Turkey for over 30 years resulting in more than 40,000 casualties, but maintained a rocky ceasefire with Ankara since 2013 until last month. The truce fell apart in the wake of the July 20th suicide bomb suspected of being the work of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) sympathizers, though the organization never claimed responsibility, which killed 33 pro-Kurdish and left-wing activists in the country’s border town of Suruç in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa. In turn, the PKK conducted retaliatory attacks targeting Turkish soldiers and police, accusing Ankara of supporting ISIL – a claim which has been vehemently denied by the government. Several dozen Turkish security personnel – police, soldiers, village guard militiamen – have been killed by the PKK since early July as well as over a dozen civilians. Terrorist Turkey should be dismantled and the land divided up between the Kurds and Greece. Anyone that doesn't like it can go to Iran. Leave Cyprus to the Cypriots.
