It doesn't take much for the collision to cause the internal organs to shift including the heart, however the aorta doesn't move and tears and bleed out internally.

Accidents happen and everyone is guilty of making mistakes. In this case their mistake cost them all their lives.

Distracted driving before the crash for sure and over confidence. I did not waste my time counting the number of times that the driver took her eyes off the road and looked into the camera but it was plenty of times. All it takes is a second or two to drift off the roadway and if you are not a damn good skilled driver, you can over correct and lose control. If you add in speeding you don't have much luck left. Her luck run out. The camera operator didn't have much of a brain either. She contributed to distracted driving. Now without video evidence from inside the vehicle at the moment of the crash, it can't be determined if distracted driving was a contributing factor.

Sorry but you're wrong.
If 2 cars have a head-on collision and both cars were driving at 40mph, "closing speed" is 80mph.
That is, it's the same as one car hitting a solid brick wall while driving at 80mph.
Basic physics. Look it up.
