Panic. The old guy wanted to be out of there so much he held on and just walked right with the guy that they were actually rescuing, killing them both. That happens too when people are actively drowning and you try to rescue them. They are so desperate to get out of the water that they will kill you by pulling on you, trying to get on top of you! |

That's true, a friend of mine was drowning during a celebration with his family at the beach, he went to far into the sea and a current swept him away, his desperation grew as he began to swallow water, he said that at a certain moment into his ordeal he accepted death and just let go, but it was not real, the guy who saved him had to knock him out because he was dragging him down, yet my friend swears he does not remember trying to drown his savior. The mind plays games on people when drowning.  |
