2 Men Shot Dead During a Robbery on a Bus
On the night of 30th August 2018 in São João de Meriti, 2 men lost their lives during a robbery on a bus by 2 gunmen who demanded everyone's mobile phones. 45 year old V.D.O.P., a security guard of more than 20 years, wrestled with the gunmen but was shot dead. He leaves behind an 18 year old daughter. 24 year old A.F.N.D.S., a supermarket worker, was on the bus with his wife + 3 year old daughter. He died protecting them from gunshots. 'A's brother described him as hardworking + affectionate. 'A' had been with his wife since he was 16 years old + she is understandably devastated. Their 3 year old daughter is too young to understand that her father is never coming home, she keeps saying "Mum, save dad, get him out of the hospital". The bus company paid for the funerals of both 'V' + 'A'.

Those poor passengers in the front seat when the fight came up front. It must've been extremely terrifying!
