Long haul truckers are paid in considerable part based on their on time rate. They have to take some chances in order to keep that up. After all, the flaming tanker was off the road. Just get through the flames fast enough, before your truck catches on fire. Go for it! The old risk/reward calculation.

Downhill, ice covered road, up to 80,000lbs GVW. Stopping wasn't an option. I live in the region and can tell you that EVERY surface was a sheet of ice at 5:00am (when I woke up and was told not to report to work thankfully) |
