Vietnam, June 5. While pumping gasoline into the tank of a gas station, the hose got disconnected and everything suddenly caught fire, causing the driver to die on the spot due to severe burns. Another died on June 9 in the Hospital.

Estimated damage in this fire is about 720 million, including tank trucks, gasoline and gasoline stores. The results of the scene examination showed that the cause of this fire was carelessness in the process of filling petrol from tank trucks to tanks of petrol stations. Specifically, in the process of disconnecting, the petrol pipeline is disconnected from the tank, which combines the gas vapor and the heat source from the exhaust pipe with the engine of the tank truck.

Brilliant video I love how they all stand around like it's a truck full of water even the driver could have lived if he had sense enough to boogie on out of there as soon as the area was covered in fuel.

Probably was a water truck at some point, which would explain the lack of any safety mechanisms to stop a major leak like that. It looks like stop, drop, and roll actually worked for once.

stop, drop, and roll always works, we just hardly ever get to see people on fire do it because I think most people don't think of it when they are on fire and freaking out.

Rolling didn't work for the Chinese foundry accident guy. I don't think it would help much if you are soaked in flaming gasoline, but covering the victim to smother the flames with coats, blankets, tarps etc. would probably help.

BTW, I blame the Americans for this conflagration of Vietcong ralliers.
