This isn't that high, it's a 2 second drop, I've jumped from heights similar to that at Cedar Creek in QLD, I'm thinking that the first guy landed slightly on his side knocking the wind out of him; as with the second guy did more of a pin drop but may have kneed himself in the face Knocking himself out cold.

I've jumped from cliffs here in B.C. with a freefall of that long or greater, into water around 5 meters deep... no way would the impact kill or even injure them from that height, and I doubt they would die if they jumped from there if it was only 4 feet of water.

Every normal being would first check the depth of the water to see if its within the diveable limit which is like 5 meters at least!
