1993: Convenience Store Robbery and Shooting Death of Pete Shrum
Pete Shrum, a former sergeant of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War, was tragically murdered during a robbery at a Diamond Shamrock gas station in Mesquite, Texas, on March 27, 1993. Shrum, 61, was working as a convenience store clerk at the time of his death. Born on June 28, 1931, in Wise County, Texas, Shrum spent most of his career in the insurance business before taking the clerk position. On the night of the incident, Shrum cooperated with the robbers' demands but was fatally shot. Peggy Wells, a witness and regular customer at the store, was also shot at but survived. The crime was captured on two security cameras, which later proved crucial in identifying the perpetrators. Following the broadcast of the footage, tips from viewers led to the arrest of Anthony Bernard Hampton and his nephew Wayne Hampton. Both men confessed to the murder and were sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 35 years before parole eligibility. They were incarcerated in separate facilities in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. This case was notable for its coverage in the media, with footage of the murder being shown in various documentaries and news programs. The trial of the Hamptons was one of only two death penalty cases in Dallas County in 1993, and the duo was spared the death penalty despite prosecutors' efforts. |

He probably knew this would happen when he saw blacks come into his store. But becasue of all the PC B/S ur not allowed to say anything,not serve them,or refuse to let them enter your store. Fuck life....only being PC matters,right?
