Many asian manufacturing plants are located in industrial zones that have no regular public transport routes and most doesn't allow private vehicles of people who are not working inside. And not many in asia have their own vehicles. especially mere factory workers. So most cases, those who live far from the factory are given the choice to live in a company provided dwellings to safe fare and avoid being late to work. Most who choose this method goes home weekly or every payday which is usually every 15 days. Thus, the dorm.
