Re: 19 Year Old Girl on Bike Run Over by Dump Truck
This is very true. One of my all-time favourite traffic law cases (which I cited myself when some dipshit failed to give way to me and the cops prosecuted me instead of him) is a 1908 case from Toronto - Toronto Railway Co. v. King, [1908] AC 260. The Court of Appeal in that case ruled that “…the autonomous movements of automobiles can only be made in safety if drivers can rely on the observance of the rules by others” Yes, I am a nerd. And, yes, I enjoyed citing a 1908 Court of Appeal case in traffic court! |

Re: 19 Year Old Girl on Bike Run Over by Dump Truck
Strange accident. A 20mph collision resulting in fire and requiring extraction. Looks like the truck didn't stop at a sign, even though the male bike rider was clearly visible approaching. Criminal negligent driving with a wilful disregard for human life. Oh, and the male survived because he wasn't an idiotic Kamala Harris voter...

Dump truck driver at fault for blowing right through that stop sign. She should have braked yes but she did have the right of way!
