why was she standing in the water?
She thought she was invincible, like many young teens do. Many of us live through our stupid decisions/actions, some of us are killed. Looked like she was on her cell or drinking something, Maybe both. She had her back turned to the flow of the water which also didn't help.

Very sad. How very scary...and what could anyone really do? Those waters were clearly too dangerous to get into and try and help get her out. Too bad she was swept into the center of the road instead of the side, might have been easier to grab something or be pushed against something like a tree or even a fence. Ugh. I don't even want to think about this anymore...my soul is pained. RIP.

Dumb Mistake...

I've always heard that less than knee deep rushing water could sweep away a 200+ pound man
As well as drowning in just a few inches of water. You can die while hanging even if your feet or butt are on the floor.
