Brazil. (Aftermath) On Tuesday, at the Instituto São José in Rio Branco, Acre, a 13-year-old student at the school opened fire in the hallway leading to the principal's office.

He used a .38 caliber pistol (specifically identified as a .38 TPC Taurus GX2) that belonged to his stepfather. The stepfather is a lawyer and registered gun owner.

After the attack, the teenager fled the scene and surrendered at a nearby Military Police station, where he was taken into custody.

The primary motive being investigated is bullying the 13-year-old reportedly suffered at the school.

Police investigators revealed that other students may have had advance knowledge of the plan and could be investigated for collaboration.

The suspect's stepfather was also detained but was later released after signing a Detailed Incident Report.

The two fatalities were school staff members. Alzenir Pereira da Silva (53) and Raquel Sales Feitosa (37). They were school inspectors aka corridor supervisors.

An 11-year-old girl shot in the leg and another staff member were treated and discharged from the hospital.

Since Brazil has outlawed 9mm, they made a 9×18 round, whereas 9×19 is 9mm

How stupid it is, its based on energy, they created a slightly smaller case for less energy. They could have just used less powder and achieved the same goal. But then again im not Brazilian.

wow, the victims are just as dead as if they got shot with the illegal 9mm. I didn't know they created a lower energy 9mm to remain lawful. The post war treaties after 1918 restricted german pistols to smaller caliber than 9mm IIRC, I have a 1920's commercial Mauser made luger in .30 luger, a bottleneck cartridge same diameter as 9mm but necked down to make a smaller, higher velocity bullet and remain lawful in NAZI Germany, the CALIBER NAZIs...
