From what I read, she could've retired but didn't because she enjoyed teaching and making a difference in her student's lives. She was loved by her pupils, it seems. It sucks she died that way doing what she thought was right and made sense to her...  |

Well now her murder does suck even more It's always great when people are so passionate about their work it energizes them and gives them a purpose instead of depleting and demotivating them.

You only got the TV sound-bite, bumper sticker version of the story that CNN/BBC wanted you to get. Obama’s regulation (note, not a law, the way we’re supposed to do things here) was only put into effect two days before Trump took office, not any of the almost 3,000 days that Obama was in office before that as a political FU to the incoming Trump. The regulation made is to so that everybody who had any social security benefits related to a mental disorder were placed on the “prohibited persons” list- it literally included people with eating disorders, for example. The regulation was so onerous that the ACLU even rallied against it - and they’re as anti-gun as the people who tell the people on your TV to tell you what to think… but even they saw this was a bad, unconstitutional regulation. Meanwhile, anyone adjudicated (that means “via due-process” for you willfully low-information zealots) mentally defective or dangerous was prohibited before the regulation, during the regulation, and STILL after the bad orange man removed the unconstitutional regulation. So, you may not be a liar. You just know so many untrue things that your TV tells you to think. |

Sorry, but I don't get my news from TV. I research the events I'm interested in. The Nashville school shooter WAS mentally ill, but STILL managed to legally order and buy firearms. So it would appear to me that your vaunted "Orange Man System" is not really working at all. Also, it seems you ARE supporting the right to firearm access, even for the mentally ill. Which is just parroting the NRA line that made me quit the organization in the first place, after being a loyal member for many years. |
