Re: WTF???!!!
Wicked injury. But those x-rays don't go with the pics. The woman is stabbed back through the eye, but in the x-ray the knife goes across the eye socket as if stabbed from the temple. Also, it's a completely different type of knife in the x-ray.. you can see the metal crossbar at the hilt, the wood-handled knife in woman hasn't got that. |

Re: WTF???!!!
Those are rivets; they secure the tang (the part of the blade that goes into the handle) to the wooden handle. You can see another set in the second x-ray. Wood doesn't show up on the x-ray, so the appearance is tricky. See the curvature of the handle that keeps fingers from slipping into the blade? The tang shape follows the shape of that finger guard, and you can see it in the first x-ray. The appearance of the knife going straight in, parallel to her face is an illusion. It penetrates at an angle, going toward the right and back of her head. It's going behind her right eye, not into it. If it was stuck straight in at the temple, then per the x-ray, the rivet would be inside her head. But the rivet's really in front of her eye. Looks like a Chicago Cutlery 5" boning knife. Poor woman. |
