Looks like a metal rod (probably to help with straightening back to normal someone's spine) connected to screwed in metal plates (which are properly aligning spinal disks) on someone's spine.

Its a three level spinal fusion, a result of my Dad injuring it trying to stop a 40,000 lb pipe 25 years ago...I also have vid and better pics, but for some reason can't upload....sorry, and will try and get my wartime pics as well as my EMT days pics too...there are some good ones...  |
