Sounds almost like a failed suicide..But I won't pass judgement...and he was one lucky guy to survived that alone.
Interesting, could be. I wonder if that is the case, that if DR might have his exploded face vid on here. o: I remember two really gnarly ones. Shotgun accidents I think. Anyway YAY for modern medical science!

You know, if it WAS attempted suicide, he survived and it taught the surgeons how to DO this for others who need it. It's kind of neat how things work out, huh? IF it was attempted suicide, his doing it and surviving it caused THIS 15 some years later.

How amazing. Just blows my mind how even the worst of things have meaning in some way or the other.

Awesome how medical science is emerging.
I wish they would figure out how to transplant eyes for the people that have to have these surgeries that are missing their eye/eyes.
The one guy that had the transplant surgery. he had a little girl. still too young to understand daddy is different, and he has no eyes due to his injury.

I remember him. He got a face, but, I believe it's prosthetics, at least, as of now.

The daughter knew his voice so she wasn't afraid and didn't treat him any differently. Brought tears to my eyes

I'm pretty sure he is on here somewhere.
