I lost 35 pounds on my own no help. I started by not eating fried foods and worked my way down. I never made my mom buy me food. I went with her to the supermarket and got myself oatmeal, yugurts and fruits!

Huge congrats on losing your extra pounds. What med helps depression? I could also lose about 80 pounds with no regrets. I wonder what role this guys mother had in his early childhood that taught him it was ok to just eat and eat and eat. Food as an emotional reward? Hmm?

John, you should go to a therapist or talk to your family doctor that you see on a regular basis about anti-depressants. Some take 4-6 weeks to kick in and some won't work for you. Some cannot be mixed with other drugs and you shouldn't drink with them. I've been on them since about 1997 after a MVA. I need to lose about 60 pounds, but, my medical issues make it impossible. Physical therapy made me feel worse and that was about two years ago when I tried again. I wish you luck if you get treatment. If you need to talk, send me a message. I've tried alot of them over the years.
