Woman Suffers Head Injuries in Dog Attack

India. A woman sustained severe injuries after being attacked by a Great Dane pet dog during her morning walk on Monday. The incident occurred around 6 a.m.

According to the FIR registered at the Police Station, the victim, Shalini D, was mauled by a dog owned by a local resident, Amaresh R.

The complaint, filed by the victim’s husband, stated that the dog attacked with such force that the victim was knocked to the ground. She suffered bite injuries to her face, hands, and legs, resulting in heavy blood loss.

The attack was captured on the CCTV camera installed at the victim’s house. In the footage, an unleased Great Dane is seen charging towards the woman. As she fell, the dog started biting her head and neck.

The family prioritised medical treatment, due to which there was a two-day delay in lodging the police complaint. The FIR was formally registered on the evening of January 28, Wednesday.

Police have booked the dog owner under Sections 117(3), 125, and 291 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The complainant alleged that although Amaresh was holding the dog at the time of the incident, he failed to restrain it, amounting to negligent conduct.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Further investigation is underway.

dog bites are nasty as shit. even with the most minor breakage of skin there is no harm in going absolutely ballistic in your wound care. feels stupid to admit but i learned that via hospital stay couple of years ago
