Woman Smelled Like Fish and Rotten Eggs For Years Before Being Diagnosed
A British woman named Ellie James has been suffering from a strange medical condition, so rare that only a few people in Britain are thought to have a similar condition. Ellie was only 30 years old when she became affected with a shaming and rare metabolic disorder TMAU, (Trimethylaminuria), also identified as fish malodor syndrome or fish odor syndrome. Trimethylaminuria is a condition that brings about defect in the regular production of the enzyme flavin having monooxygenase, giving rise to the body losing the ability to correctly change trimethylamine into an oxide, and when emitted through a person's sweat, urine or breath emits strong fishy or stinking odor. Owing to her condition, Ellie had to bear shame for fourteen years with no likely relief on the way as the disorder has no recognized cure. During those years, she said even when she attempted shunning foods such as fish, coffee, meat and dairy, she was not able to stop the fishy odor from coming off. And worse, at times she was even stinking of rotten eggs. Since being affected with the rare illness, Ellie would get only perfumes and soap as gifts from friends during Christmas and other events over the years. She had also been a regular victim of abuses on public transport and the streets. Ellie came to realize something is not right when office mates began whispering about her and people started gazing at her with covered noses. Alarmed by the unforeseen and unknown dilemma, she started scrubbing her body with detergent soap until it became red, but without any outcome. Then she choose to search for medical help after summoning her bravely to see a doctor in 2005, who took both of them 7 years before she was accurately diagnosed. Ellie then consulted an endocrinologist, who was a specialist in hormones, and she was put on diet plans and antibiotics. She was also advised to wash with special soap that is pH-balanced after finding out excessive washing using regular soap only worsened the odor. Now, Ellie said that she was gaining back her confidence and also found love in boyfriend Dan Molston, 50, whom she met through a mutual friend. |

Re: Woman Smelled Like Fish and Rotten Eggs For Years Before Being Diagnosed
Funnnier, I just tried a plastic piece of shit one a couple of days ago! It's ok, if you remove the clothing on your lower body! Fortunately, I was on my way to bed and had to remove the wet clothing anyway. I have a mirror to see that area, but, I don't know if I can maneuver both. The mirror does have a suction cup, if I can set it up just right. Merry Christmas, if you celebrate! |

OMG! I have a feeling with all my catz, getting one might not be such a good idea- they would consider it their private water park! Good luck with that mirror, I would need a doyble-wide! |
