Gawd, that made my stomach lurch. I have a pressure cooker, but am terrified to use it. I only did once and really had an uneasy feeling about it. No thanks.  |

That pressure gauge is embedded in her eye socket. Between the speed it was travelling from the pressure buildup and the extreme heat.. her eye is toast. I've always been terrified of those things too.

i remember when my mom did canning with them.there was a pressure gauge and this pressure escape thing was the size of a quarter..(usd) that would bounch up and down when cooking,when it stuck she would remove from the heat and leave it cool so it wouldn't blow.

Was always terrified as a young kid when my mom would preserve her vegetables with a pressure cooker; scared the shit out of me!!!
