Re: Woman Gets Hair Caught in Machine at Work
I can think of two possible reasons. One can be that the scarf was around her neck and got pulled up into the conveyor shaft by her hair and caused trauma to her neck. The second could be that the scarf was in her hair and perhaps got looped around her neck (by the # of revolutions of the scarf around the conveyor, it looks like a longer-type). Either of these could cause trauma to the esophagus and, in her case, dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing). As always, hope this helps, friends and neighbors |

"Her scarf became entangled in the cogs of a conveyor belt, which then dragged in her hair." Don't wear a scarf to a factory job. Seriously? At least she looked fashionable.

Re: Woman Gets Hair Caught in Machine at Work
When you're a woman and not used to something you'd probably never think about it. I wore a shitty hairdo to school one day...later on I was in shop class and leaned down when a strip of my hair got rolled up on a piece on the lathe. LUCKY FOR ME it snapped the piece of wood like a twig. Nobody said anything to me before or after the incident. I was the only chick in there but still, you'd think one male or the adult male teacher would mention that shit. I wasn't familiar around machines. Now when I went through ait in the army they really covered that stuff. Anytime you went to the water fountain there was a large poster hanging above it of a de-gloved finger. Don't even have to be on a machine to fuck up with a ring. I caught one the other day on something. |
