No it's NOT an acid attack. This woman contracted necrotizing fasciitis and was too poor to pay for medical treatment...by the time they could afford to get her any help the entire side of her face had been destroyed.

After further research, she has now had reconstructive surgery and is doing better. However, because she hasn't finished all of her surgeries, pictures have not been updated. I'll have to find the website for y'all.
