Re: Woman Attacked by Own Pitbull
I wonder where you live then, because yes i have indeed seen poodles do this kind of thing. In fact a 7 year old boy was killed by is mothers standard poodle last year. I also used to work in a grooming salon, where i got bit at least 2 or 3 times a day by MANY different breeds and i cannot even tell you how often i needed stitches. Not once did i ever have an American Pitbull Terrier so much as growl at me. |

Re: Woman Attacked by Own Pitbull
A lot of breed advocates say that "It must have been abused" But actually if there is one thing about pitbulls i love the most it's that abuse does not seem to impact there dedication to you. My first dog had been abused and her back legs broken, but when we got here she was still happy to see everyone, new people, kids..etc. You are right though, unless there is a neurological dissorder going on, like rabies dogs do not just "snap" There is ALWAYS a cause, some people just don't know how to recognize it. The dog will ALWAYS give a warning, but once again it might go unnoticed. For instance when my dog gets irritated he does not growl or anything but he puts his ears back tight against his head and and he goes very very still. That is why i am a VERY firm believer that NO ONE should own any breed of dog without a large amount of knowledge of the breed and the dog's personality. I also think that convicts should not be allowed to own this specific breed at all, if it were illegal for felons to own the breed i bet you would see a mass drop in the dumber of attacks and in the amount of fighting. They are an amazing breed, but people just love fucking it up. |

Re: Woman Attacked by Own Pitbull
Well when i said it it didn't look like a dog attack i said that based on the dog attacks i have seen, this one just looks more like an accident or human caused, not dog. the tears do not look like dog teeth at all.

Re: Woman Attacked by Own Pitbull
Actually, I'm a dog groomer & I have been bitten daily by MANY poodles, yorkshire terriers, shih-tzus, all kinds of tiny dogs. I have never been bit by a Pitbull. I own 2 of them and they are much more friendly and well behaved then a vast majority of other breeds I deal with on a daily basis.

Re: Woman Attacked by Own Pitbull
Dogs are predators. Most likely it was provoked, or felt threatened since in most domestic settings a dog's aggression is normally supressed. Uneducated (about dogs) people shouldn't own them, but what are you going to do?? Large aggressive dogs have to be properly socialized and trained, but for all we know, this woman was the head of the AKC. Little yippy dogs suck. They will take your nose off! |
