A 32 year old diarist/writer had both hands severed and cut off by bandits in the municipality of Itabuna, Brazil. Two men stormed the residence and viciously assaulted her. She tried to protect himself with her arms and ended up with her hands almost severed.

According to the diarist/writer, the bandits entered the house looked for someone then began attacking her. She was confused as she did not even know who they were.

She was taken to hospital and received emergency surgery.
